Where we’ve come from
Halcyon Tankers has been operating since 2017, and as a Limited Company from January 2019 following the MBO of the business and assets from Hargreaves. The MBO was carried out by the co-owners and shareholders, Ian Elliott (former MD of Imperial Tankers) Andrew Spence-Wolrich (former MD of Hargreaves Logistics) and Nigel Barraclough (former Board Director at Hargreaves Services and PE/Venture Capital expert)

Greek mythology was attributed to the power of the fabled halcyon bird that was said to calm the wind and sea `Halcyon' comes from the Greek word for kingfisher. According to Greek legend, Halcyone and her husband were turned into kingfishers by the gods.
